Nonstandard Indonesian

Well... Just like any other language, Indonesian daily life is filled with nonstandard words. Sometimes even Indonesian argues about which one the correct writing is. In fact, I learn a lot when I was researching this. You can find these nonstandard words everywhere. You could even find them in formal situation like documents, TVs and radios, the name of TV programs (Super Deal 2 Milyar), or newspapers. So, how could we know what's the right writing for a word? The answer is in KBBI (Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia, Indonesian Great Dictionary) which released by Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan). If you can't find the definition of the word there, then it's a nonstandard word. You could find the official online dictionary here

I'll list the top confusing words for normal Indonesian below, check 'em out!

So don't worry about it too much since normal Indonesian don't even know which one is correct and understand the nonstandard one completely, not to mention that the pronunciations are totally similar. Ah... also... errr... Google Translate still can translate it. lol
